JNNURM - A BOON TO NAGPUR CITY
- JNNURM Mission was launched by GoI in December, 2005
- The motto of mission is to provide infrastructure services to the Cities of India and Housing to Urban Poor.
- GoI has included 64 cities in this mission.
- In Maharashtra state Mumbai, Pune, Nasik, Nagpur & Gondia are under JNNURM.

Mission Statement
- Nagpur Municipal Corporation has prepared City Development Plan (CDP) by involving Government Organizations, Private Sector, NGOs, & Citizens. After repeated consultation with Stake Holders they have envisioned Nagpur as :
- "The Growth Nucleus of Central India"
- An eco city that provides adequate, equitable, sustainable access to urban services for all citizens.
- A city that is safe livable and promotes growth for its citizens.

Pre-Requisite For JNNURM
- NMC has prepared City Development Plan (CDP) and got approval from GoI.
- The CDP includes City Investment Plan (CIP) till 2021.
- Commitment for mandatory & optional reforms by way of Memorandum of Understanding (MoA) between GoI, GoM & ULB.
- NMC has resolved in above regard.
